Within a couple of months of launching their new website, Josie’s was seeing results. Their website has consistently been receiving nearly 6000 unique visitors every month. With page views nearing 10,000 a month. Many of these were new customers.

Additionally, their mobile order rate rose to 87%. This allowed them to optimize where they needed staff more efficiently and in return saved them money. 

In-Depth Analysis

Following the normal course of S.E.O., the user count waned a little and the S.E.O. needed to be updated. We followed up with a new project targeting highly searched local keywords that are returned in organic results. Specifically targeting mobile users in the areas closest to those locations. We funneled those users to two location-specific (MetroWest and Windermere) landing pages with spectacular results.

User counts increased immediately in the first 7 days and continued to rise month over month. As intended the Owner reported not only an uptick in mobile orders but increased foot traffic as well in our follow up consultation.

How much of an increase? A whole lot! Over the next 30 days, there was an increase of 63% reaching a total of nearly 7200 website views from local customers over the next 28 days.

If we look at the screenshot below, we can see that the time the user is spending on the website is short because they are moving quickly to make a purchase.

There are 15 users on the website (session start) over a rolling 30-minute time period. The click event is set to track the number of times the “Order Now” buttons are clicked to move to begin mobile ordering. 100% of website visitors are beginning the Mobile Order process quickly after landing on the respective web page. 11 of those 15 are new customers.

Market Research

We started with the knowledge that Josie’s needed local traffic. Therefore we did keyword research to find the best keywords and phrases that will result in relevant users finding their website. We used these in multiple areas for quality SEO which resulted in 95% of website hits being users who are in a location to actually purchase from the MetroWest and Windermere stores.

Page Design

We made sure that the website had consistent branding and innovative page design across the website. The Home page was used to help customers quickly and easily find the mobile order platform and designed the extensive menu page with easy to navigate links. Additionally, our team used content bands to direct users to the most important aspects of Josie’s business such as their Google reviews for satisfaction confirmation and the coupons page to entice customers with special deals.

Image Branding

Josie’s had professional photography of some of its menu items but no photos that created a context for their culture and services. We worked with their logo, a few photos they had, and stock photos to customize images giving a personal professional presence to their website and apps. Including the main hero image on the home and multiple image backgrounds throughout the website.

The Apps

Client & User Experience

We designed the app with both our client and their customer in mind. We used a hybrid of native and web apps in order for the app to have a custom feel, but retain the same user-friendly layout as the josiespizza.com website. This provides familiarity with the user experience for the customer.

For the client the provides a lower cost to maintain their apps for iOS and Android, but also makes it easy and fast to update the information without the need for a full republishing.

Push Notifications

The addition of Push Notifications gives them the ability and opportunity to send out messages for direct customer marketing. Easily announcing events, short notice discounts, app-only deals and more.
